okay so this was going to be a big update… lots of colourful piccies about my latest explorations in the land of fumes and people… but ……okay now shall i go into rant mode?
* this is the second internet cafe ive been to… and my 4th computer.. i pod…. you suck i give up on you. for those who don’t know, i only have a shred of internet at home which means my computer can sometimes log into msn to all give you all the false impression that i have a stable connection… low and behold msgs keep getting bounced back… i have actually transformed my computer into some sort of hedious 4 wheeled metal seive computer moving beast thing which can be wheelied across the flat to look for internet….. in short.. without all the swear words.. no luck.
* i usually upload all my piccies of the week on to my ipod before heading off to the internet cafe to upload everything… my ipod has decided to conc out on me… which is a pain since im all the way in bayswater.. i wasted one day of a 7 day travel card on this fucking trip.. anyways….erm… so yeh no pictures of the little model man i made..
* also! why why.. almost evert internet caff ive been to has bad flash… i can never get a bit of youtube… music in the b/g
* also im ill AGAIN! ive been ill every other week since i’ve been here.. sort of get the feeling my body really doesn’t like this place… coughing like crazy…. i can just see the italian bloke next to me edge away….. on saturday i went to buy some medicine at sainsburies, lemsip lemon drink stuff (only b.c they didn’t have beechams), now dont get me wrong i understand people trying to do their jobs but seriously … i think it was over 16 either that or 18 you had to be to buy the medicine.. but seriously do i look younger than 16?! coincidentially i’d left my provisional licence at home and all i had were my two university cards…..-_- it took a good 5 minutes before the cashier agreed to sell it to me… i assured her i wasn’t going to snort it or anything… that really made my day (!)
* what else.. i can’t remember anything else.. all of a sudden i feel the rant sort of just drain out of me… anyways i’ll try to upload the piccies tomorrow… i really didn’t want to rant…. but meh…..

…except it has some text on it… really proud of it.. painting is rubbishy (behold my awesome english..) but proud that i edited it entirely by myself.. at least this version was… the late version has text covering lower middle right.
also if you can’t be arsed to visit me (fair enough) but you really want to see what sort of a hole i live in….
i really do love my flat 
and no my sofa doesn’t really look so cubist…

this is a pic of some prints i out of a piece of cardboard.. need to experiment a bit more… too much fuzziness but happy with the results none the less.

btw i stayed up till 3.30 on saturday doing this.. it was really fun doing the prints… it was like good old feel good work but with a slight purpose for a change.
and finally me smoothing out some of my older works… yeh really glad i sort of forced myself into discovering how to modify scans on photoshop =]
and thats it for now!… also i have a really horrible brief … okay its not horrible … just extremely difficult for me….. i’ll post about it later…!
yesterday was an all in all good day. really good.. its exhausting meeting new people but wonderful at the same time. in a presentation type event, i randomly spoke to a fellow illustrator, and accidently let slip that i really really hate meeting new people. … because well it is really fucking hard… (btw this was if fact the first time i’d spoke to this person)… then i apologised and explained about the type of people who edge away from you as soon as you’ve finished talking, but he laughed and said he knew where i was coming from. we were forced into groups for our first marked project. aim: to produce a single final piece together… which as you can imagine is ABSOLUTE CHOAS!!…. okay I exaggerate. but its hard to get some sort of cohesive idea when there are so many of us from all walks of life. btw there are 14 people in our group, ppl from, brazil, japan, malaysia, s. korea, vietnam, london, wales, america. you get my gist..
we went around in the group stating our strengths, and suprisingly there were quite a few of us who had little/no experience of a computer, who only knew how to draw, and others who could only do real graphics and webpages and couldn’t draw at all. so that made me a lot calmer, and happier knowing that this course really is SO OPEN. the tutors said one thing that really stuck, you’re going to learn to design. not for the present, because thats already gone, you’re going to be designing for the future, 50 years from now.’ which is something i never thought of… also they sort of critised digital artists to some extent, and said, you shouldn’t really too much on the computer, it can make unskilled people look as if they have skill (i hate the word talent, so i used skilled instead’) and also how people should use the computer as a tool, not be a tool of a computer. so having said that i can throw out all the negitive ‘what ifs’ that i have in my mind about this course.
after uni i met up with svenni… i can’t actually remember what happened last night…. but we were really tired, this morning we had dim sum at the restaurant behind my place.. which was pretty good. then we headed off to chinatown so i could show svenni where to buy the dim sum type goodies that she liked. we were sitting down and a bunch of guys just started beating up this one chubby kid. no one stepped in, and after i over comed the shock i grabbed one of the guys and sort of pulled on his jacket. afterwards he turned around and said ‘what? you holdin on to me? you got a problem’ (mental thought ‘err yeeh.. like 7 of you just beat up this guy errr….’) but yeh afterwards and after svenni told me.. yeh it sort of was a silly thing to do… i don’t know.. still a bit shocked from the incident… i was just suprised that no one stepped in, chinatown on a weekend is not exactly a quiet time .. but yeh there we go… hooray teenagers of the world today….. (that and the bike stealing incident..)
